Our Foundation

Bill Hanigan is the founding partner of Hanigan Law Group and is a nationally recognized renewable energy attorney. Bill acts as general counsel to biofuels manufacturing companies with more than 1 billion gallons per year of ethanol and biodiesel production. As part of his extensive expertise, Bill has closed financing transactions with the largest banks representing Midwestern agriculture processing. Bill and his business partner, Valerie Bandstra, began practicing law together over twenty-five years ago.

Valerie Bandstra is a partner in Hanigan Law Group and an experienced corporate attorney with an emphasis in corporate finance and securities law and tax credit transfer transactions. Valerie’s prior practice includes roles as in-house counsel to a Fortune 500 Company and securities counsel at Montage Legal Group. Valerie has in-depth experience in commercial transactions for clients ranging in size from closely held private companies to NYSE-listed public companies.

From $2 million grain elevator acquisitions to $200 million project financings, our firm provides the same focus and attention to every client.
